As per the IPL history, Australia players have been playing a key role in Chennai’s success since the beginning. MS Dhoni-led CSK players managed to win Orange cap twice, and both times they were Australia players — Mathew Hayden and Mike Hussey.
Moreover, in the last couple of season, Shane Watson has become an important member for them. After winning the IPL 2018 final, he had nearly pulled off another win for CSK in the final of the last edition against Mumbai Indians. Chennai currently has INR 14.6 crore left in their purse for the auction of the next season.
