The Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier today. As was the norm in the last few matches, the winners of the toss elected to bowl, in this case, the Sunrisers. Match 51 of IPL 2018 kicked off with Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel taking to the crease. Sadly, they didn’t last long as Patel departed for 1 run while skipper Kohli could only manage 12.

But then, AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali came to the party and gave RCB the necessary boost. Both went on to smash half-centuries before being dismissed for 69 and 65 respectively. However, the momentum was with RCB now as Colin de Grandhomme struck a fine 40 runs. Mandeep Singh and Sarfaraz Khan were the last men standing before Singh was dismissed for 4 runs, leaving Khan on 22. RCB scored 218 runs

The Sunrisers’ chase in the second innings of Match 51 of IPL 2018 was fierce. Shikhar Dhawan perished for 18 runs but Alex Hales continued the onslaught. Hales would eventually depart for 37 before skipper Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey took up the cudgels. The two were on fire as Williamson smashed 81 runs and Pandey was on an unbeaten 62. When Williamson was sent back, replacement, Deepak Hooda scored a single run. But it was too late as RCB won by 14 runs and everyone was going gaga over AB de Villiers’ insane dismissal of Alex Hales. Here is how social media responded to the match.
