In another high headed clash of IPL 2018, Kings XI Punjab will be facing off Delhi Daredevils in Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi. While Kings XI stand second on the points table winning 4 out of 5, Daredevils stand dead last, winning just 1 out of 5.
While Delhi will be looking to win this game on their home turf, it’ll be very difficult for them to crack the wall of Kings XI Punjab, who’ll be looking to move to the top of the table. Here we enlist some of the key players for Delhi and Punjab ahead of their clash:
- Gautam Gabhir

Gambhir’s return to Delhi in IPL 2018 was considered nothing short of a fairytale after his successful campaign with the Kolkata Knight Riders. The story so far hasn’t been that bright, honestly. Gambhir has only managed 81 runs from 5 matches, struggling to find his form. He’ll be looking to step up now, especially since batting is a forte of Kings XI Punjab. Delhi will be needing his skipper to fire and lead from the top.

2. Glenn Maxwell
Another star studded player, who’s barely managed to make an impact in IPL 2018. From the 4 matches he’s played, he’s managed only 81 runs. Delhi’s struggles will continue unless players like Maxwell step up. Chasing or setting a target, Delhi will be looking towards Maxwell to come to form and help Delhi take their second victory.
3. Mohammed Shammi
Suffering from personal issues, Shammi’s tenure at this year’s IPL can be labelled nothing but a disaster. The Indian pacer has merely picked 3 wickets from the 4 matches he’s played with an economy of over 10. Delhi will need him to accompany Trent Boult if they want to have a shot at stopping the strong batting lineup of Kings XI.
4. Chris Gayle

Returning to form, the ‘Universe Boss’ will be looking to take full advantage of the weak bowling attack Delhi is using in its recent matches in IPL 2018. He’s already scored a couple of half centuries and a century to signal a return of form and will be one of the most crucial wickets for Delhi Daredevils to take. If he fires this evening, we’re up for an entertaining game.
5. Lokesh Rahul
His partnership with Gayle has been nothing short of a match made in heaven. He’s in a form of his own, scoring the fastest fifty of IPL in mere 12 balls. He’s managed 213 runs in the tournament, scoring at a strike rate of over 180. Alongside Gayle, he’ll be a force to reckon with.

6. Andrew Tye
In the 5 matches he’s played, he’s picked up 7 wickets at an economy of just over 8. He’s been one of the finest bowlers in the Kings XI squad, especially at the death. He’ll be looked upon by Ravichandran Ashwin, the KXIP captain to assist him in taking crucial wickets of Gambhir, Pant and others.
