The 2017 cricketing season seems to have been a grueling season for a number of cricketers. Ravichandran Ashwin is the latest player to be sidelined from participating in the 2017 Indian Premier League season. the loss of the spinner will be a big blow for the Rising Pune Supergiants since they already lost Mitchell Marsh to a shoulder injury. Ashwin picked up a sports hernia and will miss the entire IPL season. Kings XI Punjab will also feel the pinch after Murali Vijay was also ruled out of the IPL following a shoulder surgery.
Delhi will also be another team that will be affected after South African players JP Duminy and Quinton De Kock were absent from the squad. De Kock damaged a tendon on his right index finger while Duminy pulled out due to personal reasons. Royal Challengers Bangalore seem to be the worst affected team after Virat Kohli was injured in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. To make matters even worse, KL Rahul was also sidelined due to injury. RCB could not seem to catch a break after their replacement captain AB de Villiers picked up a back injury and was likely to miss the 10th edition of the IPL. Some reports also claim that Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh Yadav have opted to sit out of the early stages of the tournament. With the IPL just days away, a lot of teams’ chances of winning the cup will be hobbled by the absent players.
