IO Interactive Project 007 will be original

IO Interactive chief Hakan Abrak sat down with a Danish daily to talk about all things related to ‘Project 007’. This conversation was later on translated by TechRadar, and it revealed juicy details about the production process.

Hakan talked about the drive behind this latest title and how his teams are approaching the latest project. He revealed the teams working on it are looking to build a brand new universe from scratch that would feature an original storyline.

The studio is looking to take a completely original route with this video game franchise, and it does not wish to lean on a movie or a novel.

The company is looking to expand its horizon by treading into this unexplored territory as compared to its predecessors.

“We’ve also come up with a completely original story, and you could easily imagine that a trilogy could come out of it.”

The developer has confirmed that the gaming studio will indeed kick-start yet another trilogy, starting with Project 007. It will be interesting to see what the studio is going to come up with as the Hitman story comes to a close.

With James Bond, the studio is moving towards greener pastures of the mega-successful movie franchise, but it has an uphill task in front of it. So far, the video game variants of the franchise have failed to have a similar impact that the movies enjoy. If IO Interactive figures out the formula and finally does justice to this multi-billion dollar title with its idea, then it can propel them to newer heights of success.
