The much-anticipated showdown between the two tennis behemoths, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, finally went down at Cape Town.
Federer prevailed over his arch-rival in three sets by 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Even though it was an exhibition matchup, none of the players slacked.
In fact, we got to see some pretty amazing rallies in the match. Apart from a 52 shot rally, one of their back and forths saw Rafa produce an amazing 360 hook.

After slowing down the pace of the ball, Rafa had to rush to make a return. He did that brilliantly well and almost steered it clear of Federer. However, the Swiss maestro lifted the ball over the head of Nadal.
It seemed like the ball was finally out of the reach of Nadal. However, the Mallorcan ran backwards to produce a 360 hook that almost took Federer by surprise. However, Roger was vigilant on his feet. After two or three deft touches, Rafa finally netted the ball to gift Roger the rally.
Both players showed that any match between the two is entertaining regardless of the context.

The exhibition match amidst a crowd of over 50000 in Cape Town, South Africa is a brainchild of Roger Federer. Happening for a noble cause, the match seeks to help with the education of poor South African children.
The funds for the same will be routed through the Roger Federer Foundation.

There was another high profile match the previous day. It took place in a much more light-hearted setup as Roger and Rafa teamed up with Bill Gates and Trevor Noah respectively. Ultimately, the team of Federer and Gates won the match.

It was estimated that the event raised around $3.5 million. The efforts by the two tennis legends have received widespread appreciation.
