Xbox fans were extremely elated this week considering Microsoft announced the price and the launch date for the Xbox Series X and S. According to Phil Spencer, it was scheduled for next week. But the leaks forced Microsoft to make a premature announcement. Even after the official announcements have been made, yet another rumor has surfaced.

Klobrille shoots down rumors surrounding new Xbox console
The rumors didnât make any sense because if the Series V really existed, Microsoft wouldâve announced it with the rest of its consoles. This is where popular industry insider Klobrille stepped in and shot down the rumor completely.
It's obviously fake and I wish people would make use of a healthy amount of common sense.

This response may look harsh, but it made a lot of sense. PlayStation already had two versions of its consoles. On the other hand, Xbox took a different approach and created a cheaper, digital-only Xbox Series S. Why would they want to add another console that would affect sales for the Series S? So, Klobrille was correct to ask people to use their âcommon senseâ.

Microsoft also announced that Xbox Game Pass was partnering with EA Play. Players would now get access to the entire EA library, at no additional cost. This strengthened their position even further and gave them an upper hand against Sony. Their xCloud service was also announced to launch on September 15 which will bring the Xbox games to Android.

On the other hand, Sony still hasnât made its move. The rumors suggested that an event was planned for September 9, but it was Xbox who ended up making an announcement then. Bearing in mind that Microsoft has wrapped up all its major announcements, a Sony announcement wonât be too far behind. The âconsole warâ is at its peak at the moment, and the coming weeks will define itâs outcome.
