The past two weeks have been absolutely chaotic for console fans all over the world. First, Sony failed to communicate its pre-order information correctly to the customers and had to apologize for it. Then, Xbox’s pre-orders caused almost all websites to crash due to the sheer number of people waiting to order the consoles.
Pre-orders for both consoles will go live again soon, but more information is yet to be released for the same. Although, an industry insider has revealed a bit of information that will interest PS5 fans.

Popular insider Wario64 has more PS5 pre-order information
Popular insider Wario64 took to Twitter to announce what he had found out from his sources.
“GameStop will be doing in-store only preorders for PlayStation 5 (Disc) this Friday. These PS5s will not be for launch day but likely within one or two weeks after launch GameStop hasn’t officially announced this but that’s what I heard from an employee”
In addition to this, he also said,
“More info:
- Preorders available during normal GameStop hours
- PS5s expected to arrive within a week of launch
- Pulse Headset/DualSense Charging not available to preorder with Friday’s PS5
- Some stores may not be doing reservations if they over-reserved last week”

This will probably lead to a lot more chaos as the global pandemic is still on and people flooding to stores would be unsafe. Nevertheless, if fans want to pre-order the consoles, they will have to get in the line, quite literally.

Microsoft and Sony have different approaches and objectives
Even though Sony’s event was more or less successful, Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda overshadowed it. Xbox has completely changed its strategy from a console-first outlook to making games more accessible to everyone. Xbox’s vision has been clear for quite some time now. They want people to subscribe to the Game Pass, rather than pay the full price for the game, upfront. The Bethesda acquisition gives them further support in making their game library accessible to all.

On the other hand, PlayStation is still going with its age-old approach of making quality exclusive content for its customers. They still want their customers to pay the full price for their exclusive titles, as they spend millions of dollars developing them. The strategies of both these console giants are poles apart. Only time will tell who comes out on top in the next-gen ‘console war’.
