Indian captain Virat Kohli was seen furiously walking away outside the boundary rope when Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged run out in the final few overs of the first ODI between India and West Indies in Chennai.
It was the 48th over when Jadeja was batting along with Shivam Dube. Jadeja went for a quick single and Roston Chase hit the stumps directly. The replays convincingly showed that Jadeja was short of his crease, but the confusion arose on the appeal and the time taken to refer it to the third umpire.
The on-field umpire initially did not refer it to third umpire after very little appeal from the fielders. A while later, almost when it felt like everyone was getting along with the match, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard approached the umpire for an appeal. The umpire then, amidst much confusion, referred it to the third umpire who adjudged Jadeja run out.

It was then that Kohli was seen angry near the boundary rope and walked into the dressing room.
Eventually, the correct decision was made, but many Indian fans expressed their curiosity, and a few their disappointment, over the decision.

Jadeja run out via a direct hit, no one appealed so didn’t go to the video umpire; Windies saw replay on big screen and then got referred? Surely that can’t be done?

When will you call a ball dead? Jadeja run out is absurd…
Take out the DRS 15 seconds as well if this is the case

Why can’t #Jadeja be declared out after watching the post-match highlights…??!
???If it is argued against, right decisions cannot be looked for when umpires make a mistake…. !!
???What to make of…. ?? ?#IndvWI #ODI

Calling the umpire’s decision as unlawful would not be the answer here for neither the laws of the game nor the ICC playing conditions, have set a time limit for an on-field umpire to check run out decisions with the TV umpire.
