India have announced their squad for the the West Indies tour which is set to begin on August 3. The selection panel led by MSK Prasad announced the teams for ODIs, T20s and Tests on Sunday.
While Virat Kohli will continue as captain across all three formats, Jasprit Bumrah was rested for ODIs and T20s. Hardik Pandya is another major absentee in the squads while KL Rahul retains his place in all three formats.
“Prithvi Shaw, Hardik Pandya aren’t available, so is Bumrah for limited-overs cricket. Prasad: Shubman Gill is in the waiting list now since KL Rahul is back, he’ll be considered in future”, MSK Prasad said.

Shikhar Dhawan is back from the thumb injury and is set to open the innings in the limited overs format.
Wriddhiman Saha , after a long injury, was back into the test squad. Rishabh Pant was also named in the Test squad as India go with two wicket-keepers.
Youngsters Navdeep Saini, Shreyas Iyer, Khaleel Ahmed, Manish Pandey among the limited overs squads while Deepak Chahar and Rahul Chahar were picked for T20s.

Prasad also said that situation on MS Dhoni will be clarified soon. ?I will give clear clarification on MS Dhoni next. I will clear it all. Let’s focus on the squad first. Shubman Gill went to New Zealand when KL Rahul was suspended. He’s on the waiting list,? he said.
