The three-match ODI series has been in the news since its beginning for the wonderful individual performances and also for the injury scares. While Aaron Finch led Australia thrashed India by 10 wickets in the first ODI, it was India who bounced back beautifully in the second.
However, the third ODI is currently going on in Bengaluru. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. However, it seemed their decision was not right as they lost two early wickets. Mohammed Shami provided with the first breakthrough in the game with the dismissal of David Warner. He fell very cheaply for mere 3.
On the other hand, a miscommunication witnessed the dismissal of captain Aaron Finch as he and Steve Smith both ended up at the same end. However, in the fifth ball of the ninth over, both the batsmen were trying to get an easy single but that went wrong for them.

Smith pushed the ball towards gully and both set off for a tight single. Although Smith denied the single later and gave a signal towards Finch, the Australia captain was eager to reach the striker’s end. Steve Smith eventually turned back and dived into the crease which left Finch helpless in the middle.
Finch also turned back and started running to the non-striker’s end but he failed to reach. He was out of his crease by nearly half a pitch. This gave Indians ample time to collect the ball and dismiss him. Ravindra Jadeja tries to hit directly at the striker’s end.

But Smith was already there. However, Shreyas Iyer collected the ball at short midwicket and threw it to Shami who did the rest before Finch could reach. However, the dismissal left Finch absolutely furious. He was seen throwing his hands up in the air in frustration as well.

They stitched a 258-run first-wicket partnership to take the side to the finish line with ease. At the time of writing the article, Australia are batting at 80 for 2 after 14 overs.
