Pakistan had a dismal show in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019, as they failed to qualify for the semi-finals. They had to bear a lot of criticisms for the poor show. However, Prime Minister Imran Khan said he has started working to develop the best team of the world for the next tournament.
Pakistan started with a poor show against West Indies where they were bowled out for 105 runs by their opponents. They lost to India at Manchester and lost to Australia as well. However, they bounced back really well in the second half and started winning the games. Although two big defeats cost them their qualification for the semi-finals.
They were dependent on their arch-rival India and New Zealand to beat the host, England. Because if both the teams beat England then Pakistan had a chance to make it to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, both India and New Zealand lost to the hosts, Egland and Pakistan couldn’t qualify.
