During the 18th game of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier between Nigeria and Canada in Abu Dhabi, a funny incident took place. Nigeria batsman Sulaimon Runsewe, was seen running off the ground for a break.
While the reason was not known initially, he made a lot of confusion for both players and fans as he ran into the dressing room that happened at the end of the eighth over. The break took a long time as Nigeria captain Ademola Onikoyi had come to bat after that. Meanwhile, the umpires gestured Onikoti to return to the dressing room as Sulaimon Runsewe was seen tying his thigh pad before entering the field once again. Once Sulaimon Runsewe came the ground, he was cheered by all the spectators and the teammates as well.
On the other hand, Canada registered a convincing 50-run win in their second game in the tournament. While chasing a 160-run target, Nigeria scored 109/8 in their allotted 20 overs. While coming into bat at No. 4 in the second over, Chimezie Onwuzulike scored a quickfire 39 off 31 with the help of three fours and a maximum.
