India have faced their first defeat in the group stage against England on Sunday in the ICC World Cup 2019. Many qualifications were depended on the game. India, however, got the supports from?Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan because if India would win, the chances of qualification would be there for those teams. But England registered a 31-run win which means the little hope of qualification for those teams which were there, are lost. India’s loss became a talking point to everyone, including former player?Waqar Younis.

England openers Jonny Bairstow and Jason got off to a flying start where they both added more than 150 runs. Indian bowlers struggled a lot to restrict them, where spinners conceded 160 runs in their 20 overs. Although Mohammed Shami bagged a fifer, he gave away 69 runs in his 10 overs.

However, with this win, England have nearly sealed their berth for the semi-finals whereas New Zealand now have to play well to get the qualification. Meanwhile, after the defeat, Waqar Younis took a dig at the sportsmanship of a couple of the Indian players who failed to perform well. He took to Twitter and shared a Tweet about this.

“It?s not who you are.. What you do in life defines who you are? Me not bothered if Pakistan gets to the semis or not but one thing is for sure.. Sportsmanship of few Champions got tested and they failed badly #INDvsEND #CWC2019,” he wrote.

However, it didn’t go well with the Indian fans and they bashed the former cricketer. Since cricket is a game and winning and losing is a part of it. His out of context tweet raised many eyebrows. Even the legends like Nasser Hussain and Sourav Ganguly also criticized the way India played.

Here’s how Twitterati reacts on Waqar Younis’ controversial tweet:
