England have had a pretty good show so far in the ICC World Cup where they registered three wins from their four encounters. However, they got a big blow while their in-form opener Jason Roy has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury which he sustained during their last game against West Indies in the eighth over of the match when he was chasing the ball.

However, the news has been confirmed that he wouldn’t be featured in the next two games against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka respectively. Although, he will be with the squad. He has been in a formidable form with the bat where he played a blistering knock of 153 against Bangladesh and named the Man of the match.

He is one of the key players of England who has been performing consistently for England for the last two years. After getting the injury, he didn’t come out to bat against West Indies where Joe Root had opened the innings and scored a blistering century.

On the other hand, captain Eoin Morgan had also suffered a back problem during the same match and he had also left the field and Jos Buttler took over the captaincy. However, Eoin Morgan’s injury is not a serious issue and he is expected to lead as well as to play their next match against Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, James Vince is expected to get his chance in the playing XI. On the other hand, Moeen Ali, who missed the last two games, can also return to the playing XI. England will lock horns with Afghanistan in their next game at Manchester on 18th June.
