The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is all set to start on 30th May with the hosts England taking on South Africa in the opening match. Ten teams will fight for 45 days to bring home the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy.
However, before the start of the ICC World Cup 2019, each team wants to adjust to the conditions and make a winning combination of the playing XI. Accordingly, warm-up matches are scheduled prior to the opening game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The warm-up fixtures will be played between 24-28 May 2019. Each team will play two official warm-up matches ahead of the tournament.
The warm-up fixtures are scheduled to be hosted at four official ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 venues. The four venues include; the Bristol County Ground, Cardiff Wales Stadium, Hampshire Bowl and The Oval.

“It is always a huge milestone announcing an exciting warm-up schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup as it really highlights just how close we are to the action getting underway this summer, “ the Managing Director of ICC World Cup 2019 said after announcing the warm-up fixtures.
He further added, “These games provide another fantastic opportunity for fans to see world-class players at their local venue and allow the tournament to engage local schools and communities with another chance to get involved with the Cricket World Cup.”

According to the rules of ICC, warm-up matches are played 50-overs per side, but they are not entitled as official ODI matches. The teams can try all there 15 members of the squad during the match.
Some of the interesting clashes in the warm-up fixtures include England vs Australia, Bangladesh vs India, India vs New Zealand and Sri Lanka vs South Africa.
