Rapper Big Tigger is very popular among fans and players alike in the NBA circle. Not only is he a wonderful rapper, but an even better DJ. The Atlanta-based musician is contracted by the Hawks to provide entertainment at their home game. Music and celebrity culture is a huge part of the NBA and helps in selling tickets for the games. And the late Kobe Bryant knew the full value of that.
When Kobe Bryant put his name in TIME Magazine
The DJs play a part in making the game what it is. They can change the atmosphere with just a single beat. Players dig that and even demand that to get their adrenaline high. Hence, the late LA Lakers legend also appreciated that. Speaking to former player Kenyon Martin about the time Kobe gave him a shootout, he said –

“One of the greatest compliments that I ever got is Kobe did an interview with TIME magazine. And I guess they interviewed him either right when he was in DC or right after he left DC. Kobe gave me the biggest shout out in this Time Magazine article… They were talking about the entertainment aspect of the game. And he was like listen ‘I was just in DC and Big Tigger had the building rocking.'”

The rapper probably was showing it off to everyone! This huge praise floored him, “I was so proud like, you know like you take your flowers when you get them. But when somebody and you know anybody gives you a compliment, you feel better with. For Kobe to put that in ‘Print’, you know what I’m saying. I was like that was kind of dope. So I felt good about it.”

Bigg Tigger’s Freestyle rap with Shaq
Kobe Bryant’s partner in crime in LA, Shaquille O’Neal, isn’t a bad DJ himself. After all, his records have gone platinum. So you could expect fireworks when those two did a freestyle rap in Area 21.

The Atlanta Hawks might perform poorly on the court but at least they have a pretty awesome DJ. Who knows, maybe their fans buy tickets not to watch the players play but to enjoy the musical atmosphere generated by ‘Big Tigg’.
