Grigor Dimitrov was once touted as the next big thing in the world of tennis. In fact, he was ranked number 3 in the world. However, injuries and a lack of confidence meant that he continued to underperform and he was eventually out of title contention in grand slams.
Things have started improving a bit for the Bulgarian. In fact, he made it to the semifinals of Acapulco, after defeating Stan Wawrinka in the quarterfinals. In the semis, he was defeated by the eventual winner Rafael Nadal.
Dimitrov is all set to go up against Rafael Nadal. Albeit, this time, he will be facing him in a charity match for the Rafael Nadal Foundation and the National Tennis Foundation. The match will take place at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth.

What did Grigor Dimitrov say?
This is what Dimitrov had to say about the influence of the great Rafael Nadal –
“He’s a very special guy, um, to say the least, I will say (laughs). He has a pretty amazing personality to be honest. I’ve spent so much time with him on and off the court, also being able to practice with him, being able to share just a moment off the court. I really, so to speak, learnt a lot from him. I’ll say the past 4-5 years, I was going through a bit of a tough time, and I practised with him for a little bit and then my form sort off increased by that time. So, everything is just positive when it comes around him and it’s great to be around him as well.”
