In his glory days of baseball, Derek Jeter was a playboy. The late 90s and early 2000s were his years – he dated big names like Mariah Carey, Minka Kelly, and even Miss Universe 2000, among others. And why not? Jeter was on top of the world and had gotten there through his own hard work. He didn’t want to settle down or have a family just yet – baseball was his one and only love. But then, time caught up with him.

In 2014, the former Yankee officially hung up his uniform and retired from the game. Two years later, he got married to his longtime partner, supermodel Hannah Davis. Fast forward to 2023, the couple has three beautiful daughters and Jeter is a proud family man. And with a past like his, people would expect his kids might follow in the same footsteps as their superstar dad. But the former captain has other thoughts.

In a recent interview with Extra TV, Jeter opened up about being a girl dad. The conversation then turned to whether he wanted his daughters to pick up the bat. Jeter’s oldest daughter Bella already plays tennis, something her mother used to play too. But the ex-Yankee has other thoughts.

“I want my kids to find something that they’re passionate about…I want them to play sports, because I think you learn a lot of lessons playing sports. Teamwork and work ethic and setting goals,” he told Extra’s Rachel Lindsay.

The Hall of Famer continued, “But I would never push my kids into playing sports. My parents didn’t push me into doing it. I just want them to find whatever it is that they’re passionate about and support them. They have their different interests, they’re not necessarily interested in sports at this particular moment. But I think once their friends start playing they’ll get into it.”

Bella Raine Jeter has other interests that have nothing to do with sports

The Yankees legend will be proud of his daughters no matter what and wants them to have the freedom to choose their hobbies. The oldest, Bella, has clearly found something that suits her fancy – photography! An interest in the artistic side of life has clearly been passed down from her family, and her dad couldn’t be happier.
