Daniil decided to reunite two popular sports through his legendary celebration. After his win, Daniil decided to go with a popular celebration from EA Sports’ FIFA. Moreover, he later explained that he really loves playing FIFA during his free time and absolutely adores it.

During the post-match interview, he cleared that this was an iconic Dead Fish celebration that most FIFA players use after scoring a goal. He said he was imagining that “I’m gonna win against Novak or whatever and to not celebrate it would be too boring because I do it all the time. So I needed to do something but I wanna make it special. I like to play FIFA and also PlayStation, it’s called the Dead Fish celebration.”

Why Daniil Medvedev chose the FIFA celebration

The main reason why Dannil chose the FIFA celebration is he talked to the guys in the locker and they thought it would be a legendary celebration. After hearing those words, he told what he thought at the moment, “That’s how I wanna make it; I wanna make it legendary for myself. It’s not because I wanted to be in the newspaper. I wanted to make people laugh, for my friends to laugh, and I even got hurt a little bit while celebrating.”
