Stefanos Tsitsipas recently opened up on his bromance with the Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios. The 22-year-old Tsitsipas was talking about his life with other players outside the court. When asked about Nick Kyrgios, the Greek player claimed that Kyrgios was a fun guy, but he had better friends than him.
“I have better friends than Kyrgios, honestly. He is a fun guy,” said Tsitsipas.
Tsitsipas was asked about his bromance with Kyrgios. "Is it a bromance? I have better friends than Kyrgios, honestly. He is a fun guy, sometimes he doesn't know what he is doing. He reminds me of John McEnroe. We need people like him in tennis, to make it more unpredictable".

Some banter ensued recently between the two players when Tsitsipas shared Kyrgios’ phone number on Twitter. This happened for the second time during the pandemic. Clearly, the two share a history of pranks. Head to head, the two have met on two occasions. Kyrgios managed to secure a win on both occasions.
‘He reminds me of John McEnroe’- Stefanos Tsitsipas on Nick Kyrgios
Tsitsipas even compared Kyrgios with the nine-time Grand Slam winner and legendary American tennis player John McEnroe. Many believe that just like McEnroe, Kyrgios is also a complicated but fun player. He has the sarcasm that McEnroe used to have at one point. McEnroe had also been a part of some controversies, much like Kyrgios frequently is.
“Sometimes, he doesn’t know what he is doing. He reminds me of John McEnroe. We need people like him in tennis, to make it more unpredictable,” said the 22-year-old Greek.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is currently playing at the German Open 2020. He is due to face Dusan Lajovic today at the quarters of the tournament. He was knocked out of the Italian Open 2020 in Round 2 itself.

The Greek player will face Jaume Munar at Round 1 of the French Open 2020 on September 27. The World No. 6 will definitely want to make a mark in this Grand Slam.
