What Has Dominic Thiem Been Reading?
In a recent chat, Dominic Thiem was talking about the many things he has been doing during the pandemic, one of which was reading books. He went on to talk about the kind of books he went through.
“I have been reading criminal books and biographies. I read a lot of biographies like Rafa’s, some footballers’ and Michelle Obama’s. They are very interesting.”
Rafael Nadal will be very happy to hear that Dominic has been reading his biography. And like many other people who read it, the Austrian also enjoyed the book as it traced Rafa’s journey from a young boy to one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

While Dominic Thiem is certainly enjoying that, he is probably putting time in for other activities as well, like training and practicing. After all, he has his eyes set on a particular goal – breaking the reign of the ‘Big 3’ at the Grand Slams.
This is something he has been wanting to do for a long time but to no avail. However, that does not mean he hasn’t come close. In fact, this year at the 2020 Australian Open, he lost narrowly to Novak Djokovic in a thrilling 5-setter.

Sadly, that was his last opportunity to do so as the ATP Tour was suspended after that. It is scheduled to return in August, assuming the coronavirus is contained by then. Moreover, the French Open remains the one Major that has a high possibility of still being played. He will be delighted to have another crack at the trophy later in the year.
Hopefully, it is and we can see Dominic finally break the reign of the ‘Big 3’.
