The US Open heralds the final Grand Slam of the tennis season, and the US Open 2019 is held from 26th August to 8th September. Like the other Grand Slams, there is a considerable amount of US Open 2019 prize money awaiting the eventual winner.

It has been reported that the US Open 2019 boasts of the richest prizes in comparison with all the Grand Slams. As it turned out, the USTA announced an increase in the total player US Open 2019 prize money for the tournament. Apparently, the total pot is said to be over $57 million, for the first time in history. Approximate estimates say that the pot is worth $57,238,700.

That amount will naturally be split among the winning individuals of the various categories. In all, the winners of the men’s and women’s singles tournaments will take home a record $3.85 million prize each, an increase by 1.32% approximately. The also-rans will pocket a cool $1.9 million each, and from there, the money is divided, up till the first round, where the players receive $58,000 each.

Coming to the Men’s and Women’s doubles, the winners take home a cash prize of $740,000, an increase by 5.71%. The lowest that a double’s player can earn is $17,000, which is an increase by 3.03% from 2018. Naturally, the prize money is shared by both players, so the $740,000 and the rest of the prize money, will be further split into two.

Finally, the mixed doubles winners will pocket $160,000, further shared between the pair. Once again, the lowest that it can go to is $5,900, which is shared between the Round 1 pairs. The $160,000 is a 3.23% increase from the 2018 US Open, and the $5,900 is an 18% increase rom last year.

The US Open 2019 prize money pot is a far cry from 51 years ago, where the total pot was $26,150. Last year, the total cash pot was worth $50,565,840, so the $57,238,700 is an increase of 13.20%. It is also worth noting that last year, the cash prize awards to the Men’s singles and Women’s singles was $3,800,000.
