Milos Raonic is part of a very special group of players. These are athletes who have been able to carve a niche for themselves even as the Big 3 win all the big events.
They include names like Juan Martin Del Potro, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga and Stan Wawrinka among others. Like them, Raonic has made it big despite the Big 3 onslaught with a position in the Wimbledon finals making his resume heavy. The best thing, Raonic is still plying his trade in the tennis business despite serious injuries.
The most recent news regarding the Canadian star features his opinions on the rescheduling of the French Open. While many tennis players have had strong opinions regarding the same, Raonic gave a characteristically balanced answer. Let’s find out what he told CNN.

What did Milos Raonic say?
As per Raonic, we should be more thankful that more grand slams are able to take place. Personally, he would love to play as many events in the year as possible if his body permits. However, his agreement with the decision of the French Open was not without its fair degree of reservations.
Four weeks in five (in September) … I think that will pose issues for players, and I think also because a transition to a different surface (from hard to clay courts) will be very quick,” he told CNN’s Christina Macfarlane.
“The thing that you really hope for is that it doesn’t create an uptick in injuries because that is quite tolling, quite a task.”

However, he was largely optimistic about the prospects of getting to play more tennis.
“Am I happy that it is going to happen? Yes, I think so, to have a chance to play as many grand slams as possible in what is going to end up being a shortened season for us is a very important thing and I’m happy that a way is found to make it happen and hopefully we can get through to that point and be able to compete in those events.”
