How many more young lives must be lost before we address the dangers of reckless driving?

For a long time now, there have been multiple losses in the high school football space. Just a few days back we saw Houston Academy assistant coach Michael Jerkins Sr. lose his battle to cancer. This had sent the entire Houston Academy in shock. With support pouring in from the staff and also people from the internet, we had never thought that we would be covering another tragedy so soon.

On X, Bear Sports Network shared a piece of disheartening news. “We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Allen Park’s Alan Rodgers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rodgers Family, Allen Park High School Community, and the Allen Park Football Team,” Bear Sports mentioned in the caption of their post. But this incident stands as a major roadblock for the Jaguars. Alan Rodgers was an amazing kid. He was a promising junior on the high school roster and was an aspiring photographer as well. The tragic death occurred due to a car accident.

The kid was not only a star athlete for Allen Park High but was also an amazing person with a vibrant personality. The teaching staff at Allen Park had mentioned that Rodgers was a “curious and diligent” kid. As the community and Rodgers’ family and friends slowly recover from this loss, the entire incident also stands as a stark reminder of how fleeting life can be.

Howard was in a traffic accident and when the former player got out to check up on the person he had crashed with, a 3rd car had struck him from behind.
