Is Steve Sarkisian's recruiting genius enough to overshadow the Longhorns' recent loss to the Bulldogs?

Even after suffering a tough loss of 15-30 against the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian is garnering attention for his exceptional recruiting techniques, which are attracting the interest of recruits. Recent updates on Texas’ recruiting class suggest that Steve has already meticulously planned everything well in advance. Let’s take a closer look at what all the buzz is about.

Today, Texas Longhorns recruiting insider Justin Wells took to X to share head coach Steve Sarkisian’s long-time plan for Texas with 3 key high school players recruitment, saying, “NEW—Texas Longhorns Recruiting Intel: 2025 DL news, 2026 WR target, and 2027 RB to know *Chace Sims post-Texas visit *Brayden Robinson talks UT trip *Ezavier Crowell’s post-ATX trip.” This shows the kind of coach Steve Sarkisian is—not only did he plan teams’ flip targets way too early but also started acting on them, which also clarifies why he is the third highest-paid coach in the country with a $10 million salary.

Talking about the 2025 flip target and Randle’s 3-star defensive lineman Chance Sims, he was bound to think twice about his decision. In July, Chance announced his commitment to Texas A&M, but with recent events taking place, even he is on the verge of switching his decision after he visited Texas.

Next up on their list is Read Oak wide receiver Brayden Robinson for the 2026 class and Jackson running back Ezavier Crowell for the 2027 recruiting class. As they already visited the university, there are chances that they might make an early commitment to the team. For now, let’s talk about Steve’s incredible recruiting techniques, which have already landed him among talented freshmen for the 2025 class.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Steve Sarkisian's recruiting genius enough to overshadow the Longhorns' recent loss to the Bulldogs?

Have an interesting take?

Steve Sarkisian’s aura is unbeatable even though the team landed a rough loss against the Bulldogs last week, but we can’t ignore the Longhorns’ six consecutive wins in the ongoing season. Which is more than enough to attract fresh recruits. However, Sarkisian is already ahead of his recruiting class, as there are many young players who have already shown their immense trust in him. Galveston TX five star safety and linebacker Jonah Williams committed to Texas even before the season started who is currently ranked no.1 safety in the country. The reason behind Jonah’s decision to choose the Longhorns was mainly because of the coaching staff. Well, there is something Steve must be doing right.

Even Sachse’s five-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett pledge to the team in the same month. And don’t be surprised to know that even he has the same reason to commit to Texas as Jonah. During his announcement ceremony, Kaliq praised Steve and WR coach Chris saying, “I believe in what coach Sark is doing and I believe in wide receivers coach Chris Jackson and his NFL resume, I feel he can take me to be one of the best receiver in college football.” Now that Sarkisian and the team are ahead of their recruiting timeline, it’s going to get much more interesting to see how many more high school players will show faith in them.
