Once a Newman, always a Newman! And guess who just proved that again? The Texas Longhorns QB Arch Manning. This season has been a tough one for the latest member of the Manning legacy who found himself in the midst of a QB hoopla bearing the blows of HC Steve Sarkisian’s lack of decisions. But that did not stop Manning from rooting for his alma mater, who crushed Country Day football on November 1. More than his program, the Newman Greenie RB fell under the Longhorns’ QB’s radar. While Manning has been cordial with everyone he has come across, he somehow got snubbed by the Colorado Buffaloes’ QB Shedeur Sanders. That’s when fans huddled up to throw Deion Sanders’ son under the bus defending the Texas QB.
Indeed a big day for Newman High School as it dominated over Country Day, coming off a solid 42-7 victory. Even though Manning now plays in college, that did not stop him from flaunting his alma mater’s big win. After all, his high school gave him the first platform and exposure, and his stats have been phenomenal. Four years, 8,517 passing yards, and one of the most intense recruitments in college history later, Manning finally made his way to the Longhorns. Maybe Newman’s latest win on Friday made him too emotional witnessing RB Jake Randle’s rage. He then gave a shout-out to the star of the evening on his IG story.

Resharing Newman Athletic Photos’ post on his IG story, Manning drew all the attention to Randle and wrote, “Slide 4 @jran1_.” The fourth slide of the original post had the RB’s picture holding dearly to the ball as he came up with 5 touchdowns in a 42-7 victory, making the November 1 game all about himself. By now he already must be on cloud nine since he landed huge praise from the Newman alumni.
Even though Manning is always the first one to appreciate real talent irrespective of the program, the Buffs QB stripped him off very well, knowing that the Texas QB is likely to close the ‘Manning Circle’ in the 2026 NFL with an incredible landing spot.
Arch Manning gets huge online backup after Shedeur’s harsh criticism
Yes, we get it; it’s a plain QB vs. QB battle. But was this expected from someone like Shedeur, who is going to soon transfer to the NFL while Manning is just 19 years old? Well, the Buffs QB needs a lot of maturing since he recently mouthed off the young Texas star QB.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Shedeur Sanders' criticism of Arch Manning a sign of insecurity or just competitive rivalry?

Right after Manning replaced senior QB Quinn Ewers, which led to Sarkisian losing to Kirby Samrt’s Georgia, Shedeur dished out a bold claim: “I mean, Arch is still young. He has a lot of time to grow and succeed, I would say. I think for Quinn, the only difference was that they were trying to change it up a little bit to spark something, but I feel like it was going to go back to Quinn anyway.” It was pretty evident that Manning in no way falls in Deion’s son’s list of talented QBs since he believes that he lacks momentum. While the Texas QB is yet to make a retort back, for now, his fans did the honors.

One of them went all brutal, attacking the Buffs QB and asking him to zip up his mouth, “Who is Sheduer Sanders to comment on other teams…as usual he should just shut up.” While another one questioned his IQ, “Shedeur Sanders can’t spell two letter words.” That’s sheer audacity since Charlie Campbell of Walter Football has already predicted that Arch Manning will be heading to the New Orleans Saints with the 1st overall pick.
