Despite not being able to clinch victory against Michigan on the field, Ohio State’s ability to attract top talent under Ryan Day’s leadership remains impressive. While the Buckeyes may have experienced a setback in the rivalry game, they continue to excel in recruiting, with numerous high school athletes eager to join the program’s storied legacy. In the world of college football, there are victories and defeats, but Ohio State remains committed to attracting the best players and maintaining its competitive edge.

When everyone thought that Ryan Day would not be able to make the most out of the recruiting class following their mishap against Michigan, he proved what he is capable of. With the early signing period taking place, the Ohio State Buckeyes have gained a total of 25 recruits signing the letter of intent, of which five-star recruits are 2 and four-star recruits are 18, ending with a total of 5 three-star players on the team.

Now talking about the Michigan Wolverines roster after the first signing day, Sherrone Moore and the team obviously have their biggest win of the season, Bryce Underwood. Apart from him, the team landed 21 letters of intent from the players. Among them, Michigan has two five-star recruits, 12 four-star recruits, and seven three-star recruits. Even if Ryan Day lost four consecutive games against Michigan, he at least saved himself from this embarrassment. However, it’s not like Coach Day was successful in getting everything under control.

It’s all not daisy for Ryan Day’ team

Well, there is no doubt that Ohio State has been raging in terms of recruiting class. Their loss against Michigan also couldn’t stop them from gaining the trust of high school players. But then it’s not like Ryan Day has got everything under control. As we say, where there is gain, there is loss too, and the same happened with the Bucks on this early signing day: the team lost some of their top prospects, which is not something Coach Day would have thought. The team lost one of their key defensive line players and cornerbacks, Nae’em Offord, to the Oregon Ducks. He is currently the no. 4 recruit in the nation for 2025 and is also the no. 1 cornerback pick from his class from Alabama.

Losing Offord pushed Ryan Day’s Ohio State to the fifth position in the recruiting class standing. But then their roster is still filled up with talented players, and moreover, for now, Coach Ryan’s and their team’s main concern is to take their team through the playoffs, and as far as next year’s roster is concerned, it looks like it’s all under control because gaining 25 signs when you are on an edge with your position with the team is really commendable.
