Can Mater Dei's Monarchs maintain their undefeated streak, or will Centennial be their toughest challenge yet?

Finally, Mater Dei High School is living up to its name, the “Monarchs.” Their emblem is of a lion showcasing kingly power and might. With the faith in their hearts, “I command you: be strong and steadfast! Do not fear or be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go.” Well, Raul Lara’s program is up for something special.

However, nothing is special without the whole Monarch nation pouring their support. Thus they make a public call. Coming off with a straight 16th victory, their legacy speaks volumes not only in college but in the biggest league as well.

Not even for a moment did Mater Dei miss their beat this season. Friday, November 15, had been no exception as they blew past the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers with a gigantic score, 33-13. Well, that’s how their trend has been this season, as they are now maintaining an undefeated streak of 10-0. This marked the 13th straight at-home victory of Mater Dei. And obviously, they could no longer keep their excitement in check. On November 17, they came up with a post on IG and the first line of the caption was enough to capture the attention of the fans as it read, “The CIF-SS Semifinals are set!”

The post contained a chart showing No.1 Mater Dei at 10-0 to be fighting with No.5 Corona Centennial, who are at 9-2 on November 22. This is going to be a home match for Centennial. With this, Mater Dei comes with a sweet request for the fans as they wrote, “Monarch Nation, come out and support the #Monarchs as they battle for the chance to return to the CIF-SS Division 1 Championship game!” The hashtags like “#RedPoise” and “#PridePoiseCourage” are enough to hype up the fanbase before the big day, which is the championship final on November 29. The current state of Mater Dei is bound to offer something good.

Mater Dei’s recipe for success

What’s your perspective on:

Can Mater Dei's Monarchs maintain their undefeated streak, or will Centennial be their toughest challenge yet?

Have an interesting take?

Well, the Monarchs are coming off pretty strong. Do you know what helped them to reach the position that they are in today? Mater Dei’s defensive effort has only surrendered 10.5 points per game. Not just this, but their victory against Sierra Canyon came with a new record, as by crushing them, Matter Dei broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

After all, the Monarchs are a pro at getting points on board. Do you know the high school program has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups? On that note, the Centennial does not look like a tough nut to crack. In case the numbers fall short of serving them enough motivational juice, they should take a look at how Mater High alumni are making their high school proud in the NFL.

One of the legends in the big league with the Monarchs tag is Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young, who played for the same position back in high school. Later, he was a National Championship winner and even bagged the Heisman Trophy while playing for Alabama Crimson Tide. The other big name from high school who is making it big in the NFL is Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St.Brown. Mater Dei High School now has plenty of fuel to ignite their championship drive.
