The No.1 quarterback in the 2020 class might be a big name, keeping the NFL programs on their toes. But deep down the Carolina Panthers QB, Bryce Young still has not forgotten the chapter of his life that has helped him reach where he is today. That’s high school football. Mater Dei High School played an immense role in the big break he had in the NFL for planting the seeds of talent within him. Now that his alma mater is up for something special, how could Young just stay aloof by not being a part of that journey? Squeezing time out of his busy schedule, the QB made the Monarchs’ day by just dropping by.
For Young, all the fame that he enjoys today has started with high school. Back at Mater Dei, in his junior year, the QB came up with 3,846 passing yards and 39 passing touchdowns. With the Monarchs, he bagged the title of the Gatorade Football Player of the Year. Young also led Mater Dei to the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Championship Game. Even though he has long left behind his high school, it did not stop Mater Dei from welcoming Young with open arms as they posted a picture of the QB posing with Ms. Helen Steves in their hood with the caption, “Welcome back to the Bowl @bryceyoung 🐐.”

Mater Dei is literally on cloud nine as they shared a note of gratitude: “Thank you for coming out and supporting the #Monarchs. Monarch Nation loves to see our #3Stripers come home \|/.” So what made Young pay a visit to Mater Dei? Well, Raul Lara’s Monarchs are coming off strong with back-to-back 16 victories. Now, November 22 marks a special day for No.10 Mater Dei as they will be facing off against No.5 Corona Centennial. On November 17, they called to action with an IG post.
It read, “The CIF-SS Semifinals are set! Monarch Nation, come out and support the #Monarchs as they battle for the chance to return to the CIF-SS Division 1 Championship game!” However, they did not expect Young to respond to their request. After all, he has so many important events lined up.

Impressive growth unlocked by Bryce Young
Last month in October, Young started for the Panthers against the Denver Broncos. Well, that did not come easily. After all, to get the position, five weeks of waiting, learning, and playing scout team quarterback went into it. The QB now has big shoes to fill as he is back in the lineup in place of Andy Dalton who fell prey to a minor sprained thumb in a car accident this week.

However, this came as a surprise since Carolina had benched Young after the second game of the regular season. But not even for a day did the QB take things easy. Instead fought his way back to reclaim the position and the honor. Now even the Panthers HC Dave Canales is all positive about Young.

“He’s been an absolute stud through this whole process,” stated the HC. Thus, while Bryce Young must be spending his costly time doing some calculations to make the most out of his new chance, he looks to be all chilled out visiting Mater Dei and spreading some good juju.
