Buckle up, high school fans! The high school rankings are here. And let me tell you that the new rankings have some major shake-ups. If you are a Mater Dei fan, then you might be a bit disappointed with how HC Raul Lara and his boys ended up on the list. On the other hand, good news for the Carrollton High School fans. Yes, we know, things are in your favor as long as you have your 5-star QB Julian Lewis around. Even in his last chapter in high school, Lewis ensured to give a parting gift to Carrollton.
Things have been going well for Mater Dei as the Monarchs continued to rule the top position in the national rankings. However, it has been no easy ride since they had to put their blood, sweat, and tears to come up with convincing wins over California top-10 foes Santa Margarita Catholic and Servite. But right at the moment, things do not look quite promising. On November 7, analyst Erin Reid dropped the High School Power Rankings “Playoff Edition.”

Going by the list, Mater Dei has fallen to the No. 2 position. That’s because the Monarchs had a bad fall on October 25 against St. John Bosco, who crushed them 14-59. Now what about Carrollton High School? Previously, they were at the 20th rank. But all thanks to their phenom QB Lewis. Now they stand at No.6, that is, they have gone up by 12 ranks. Impressive, isn’t it?
November 1st has been a big day indeed for Carrollton High School, who came up with an electrifying performance against Douglas County High School 49-28. And no brownie points for guessing who stole the show? Had to be Lewis who heads into the playoffs with a 35-3 career record. Well, as Carrollton High vibes to their latest victory, they better start thinking of the time ahead without Lewis.

How Julian Lewis turned down the big names
Looks like the 17-year-old QB, who had already given his words to Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans, has made up his mind on where to land next. It’s confirmed that Trojans are not the lucky ones to be reeling in the young chap fresh out of Carrollton High. And who was next up in the line? That one program that has maintained an undefeated streak this season—Curt Cignetti’s Indiana Hoosiers. Well, even they turned out to be the unfortunate ones in the JuJu race.
The 9-0 streak was not alluring enough for Lewis to call Indiana his next home. On November 7, Rivals made a tweet, making it clear what could be the high school QB’s next big step. The tweet read, “@AdamGorney has confirmed that 5-star QB Julian Lewis will NOT be visiting Indiana this weekend for its game against Michigan.” If the doors are closed for the Hoosiers, who is the 5-star QB eyeing next?

By now you already have guessed. It’s Deion Sanders and Colorado Buffaloes after the kind of red carpet treatment Julian Lewis has received from Boulder. But the CFB fans feel that it has got to do more than the warm welcome and Coach Prime’s efforts in landing the QB. It seems inevitable that Lewis will join the Buffs, regardless of the recruitment effort. That factor that would play a big role is QB Shedeur Sanders and the charm of his $6.2 million NIL valuation. In a photoshoot, Shedeur has already handed the keys to Lewis. Still looking for clues?
