Can Deion Sanders' charisma lure Julian Lewis to the Buffs, changing the college football landscape?

The pressure is mounting in Southern California as the Trojans are stuck in a rough patch. And it’s getting worse! Five losses this season? Bad enough. But now, their 2025 star commit, Julian Lewis—hailed as the next Baker Mayfield—has de-committed. Yep, you read that right! To rub salt in the wound, there’s buzz that Lewis might head to Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes instead. For Lincoln Riley and the Trojans, it’s a double blowa tough season on the field and now, uncertainty off it.

Today, recruitment analyst Hayes Fawcett and Carrollton’s five-star recruit Julian Lewis took to Instagram to share an update regarding Lewis’s de-commitment from the USC Trojans, saying, “BREAKING: Elite 2025 QB Julian Lewis has decommitted from USC; he tells me for @on3recruits.” However, what took everyone’s attention was Buffs’ four-star commit and Mainland’ DL Christian Hudson’s comment on Julian’s post saying, “You already know what to do 🦬😁” Is this the indication of JuJu finally flipping his big move towards Deion Sanders Colorado Buffs?

Since the moment Julian Lewis visited the Buffs game against the Bearcats, there has been speculation sparking on his inclination towards the Buffs. Even after the visit, Julian expressed his satisfaction with the program, saying, “Colorado has a lot of energy.” If the team gets Julian on board, he will surely add a lot of value to the offense with his exceptional passing abilities.

Moreover, getting into Colorado’s program will be a smart move for Lewis. With Shedeur Sanders leaving next year and Lewis reclassifying to 2025, he has a chance to start right away. In fact, the Colorado Buffs have made it clear that he can be their starting quarterback from day one. “They want me to make the best decision for me, but they made it clear that I have the opportunity to play early,” Julian Lewis said. Let’s see if JuJu can finally figure out his desired team.

Julian Lewis’ tale of commitment

Julian Lewis has always strived to find his desired team and has never been shy from looking for better options, even after committing to the USC Trojans. The one thing that attracted Julian the most about USC was their history of producing successful quarterbacks, like Caleb Williams, who won the Heisman trophy in 2022 with the team and also had a pretty good run the next year, which led him to be the No. 1 NFL draft pick of the 2024 season. Now, with a dismal 5-5 record under Lincoln Riley, the Trojans have had a disappointing season, which is a contributing factor to Julian’s departure from the team.

However, with the number of coincidences surrounding Julian Lewis and his inclination towards the Colorado Buffs, there are chances that they finally get the 5-star QB’s commitment. Even their most dedicated fan, Peggy Coppom, wants to see him join the team, as she made a video on it saying, “Juju I have been cheering for this Colorado Buffs team for 84 years, and I’m getting tired of being a good loser. I would love to be a good winner. So come on out here and play for us and help us win.”
