Julian Lewis’ QB future at Colorado just got a lot spicier. Sanders has made two daring moves that have caused quite a stir, and now all eyes are on JuJu. With Deion Sanders creating a platform for intense competition, Lewis must demonstrate that he is the one capable of leading the Buffs. Whether he rises to the occasion or gets lost in the shuffle, one thing is for sure: Coach Prime’s clearing the path for JuJu to shine, and it’s looking like the kid’s time to take over the game is coming real quick.
Now Julian Lewis’s uncertain quarterback position is making headlines this season. There is a new ray of hope coming his way that can strengthen his chances to start off his very first season. Yes, you heard that right. Deion Sanders recently flipped a tight end from Northwest Missouri State. This might be a turning point for both Buffs’ offense and with the “first TE with production to show in a while. Should open up the playbook and help Julian Lewis.”Looks like Coach Prime has everything planned for JuJu.

Moreover, Coach Prime also compared Julian Lewis with Shedeur Sanders while talking about JuJu’s throwing abilities, saying, “Some of the similarities are unbelievable. He’s everything that we desire in the quarterback. He’s smart; he could throw every throw. He has a pocket awareness, pocket presence. He is a darn leader, but most of all, he’s a winner.” Is it okay to say that in a way Sanders is trying to give assurance to Julian with all the uncertainties coming his way? This might be a sign of him playing at a place where his desires lie.
Losing a player like Julian Lewis is not an option for Coach Prime, so the way he tried hard to get him on the team, he will obviously make sure that he stays with the team. With each passing day, there is a new quarterback joining the team, and such news will keep Julian on edge, it’s not like Julian doesn’t have anywhere else to go. Treating him as an option will be a big mistake for the team because transfer portals are a scary thing these days.

Is Julian Lewis just an option for the Buffs?
See, when it comes to gaining the trust of players, Coach Prime knows exactly how to play his cards. It’s not only with Julian Lewis but also our Heisman winner for this year, who couldn’t resist his aura when he flipped his commitment to Florida State. Moreover, he even got Cormani McClain from Miami, even though he didn’t stay, but once he was a part of the Buffs. Even next year with JuJu, there is not going to be anything different. There is a chance that he might start late, but he will start off on the right foot.
Well, now there is a catch in between all this assumption that is the reality of Colorado finding another quarterback to make things easy for their team. With Shedeur Sanders out of the way, the team needs someone experienced, and it’s not like Julian Lewis, being a newbie, can’t handle things, but it’s CFB we are talking about. Even Buffs offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur highlighted the same thing, saying, “We want to be a little bit greedy about it. I mean, obviously, JuJu’s future is unbelievable, and I’m certainly very much looking forward to working with him. He’s got a bright future, and we’ll see how quickly that happens. But at some point here, I think we need to add another quarterback.”

The team has already begun their quarterback hunt; there Kaidon Salter is already visiting the Buffs and has shown keen interest towards the team. If everything goes according to Shurmur’s plan, the team might end up locking Salter as a starting quarterback, pushing Julian Lewis to the backup role. For now, it’s not a good sign for him because a 5-star prospect doesn’t think of ending up on the sidelines for long. But knowing Coach Prime’s history, there is a possibility Lewis will get a chance to play.
