Even though it’s a cloud nine moment for the Trojans, deep down they are already hoarding tissues as they will have to say goodbye to Lewis soon. The 5-star QB commit had given his words to Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans, but he declared his decommitment. Then what’s next for JuJu?

However, this did not come easy for the seven-time state champions. November 1 has indeed been a special day for Lewis’ program as they crushed Douglas County High School 49-28. The big win also gave the 5-star QB an edge, who now heads into the playoffs with a 35-3 career record. Along with his alma mater, something big came for Lewis.
The 17-year-old had hit the 10k mark of passing yards. Isn’t that impressive? Even in his last lap in high school, JuJu keeps hitting some milestones, but he is still not sure about his next stop.

Julian Lewis eyes new horizons
While Carrollton High School was on the verge of heartbreak, it was only Riley who proudly donned the crown jewel of their 2025 recruiting class, Lewis. Sadly, he can’t do it anymore. More than a year after he had committed to the Trojans, he declared that he was no longer going to continue with Riley’s program. Now what might be the reason behind this bold decision by Carrollton High’s standout QB?
Well, people are speculating that it could be just NIL. As in an interview with On3, Lewis himself confessed, “Shoot, money’s life. I’ve got to help provide for my family.” And if you know, you know, Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders has already laid out a red carpet for their favorite JuJu. So when it’s the Buffs, there is no question for exploring a second option. Guess why?

As we all know, Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders is all set to step into the NFL. So, it’s obvious that Julian Lewis will be filling up his place. That’s a big win in itself, as Shedeur right now is leading the NIL charts, holding a valuation of $6.2 million. If that’s the goal for Lewis, the Colorado Buffaloes could be the golden ticket for him.
