2024 College football has everything you ask for: drama, thrilling games and lots of entertainment. While the competition is getting intense, the programs are also fighting to recruit top athletes. Early signing days are around the corner, and every program is on the hunt to attract uncommitted players. Meet a five-star defensive lineman and uncommitted prospect, Jahkeem Stewart. You would be wondering, five-star and still uncommitted. Yes! However, major programs like LSU, Oregon, USC and Ohio State are on his radar.
The Tigers are serious about him; they are looking to replicate their recruiting success with his presence. But he has not made any commitments yet. While Stewart’s impressive skills and physicality have drawn attention and programs are running behind him, he is all set to participate in a special high school retreat. The rising talent took to Instagram to share the news. The retreat is planned for February 8th, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Let’s find out the reason behind the retreat and what is exactly going to happen.
Announcing the event on X, Coach Brandon Jordan, whose resume features coaching gigs at Ohio State (defensive assistant coach) and Michigan State (pass rush specialist coach), said that the event “will include field and film work where you will get coached up by NFL players.”

Who are these NFL players? Well, Raiders’ star Maxx Crosby and Bills’ linebacker Von Miller would be in attendance to teach the next generation. The opportunity is for the nation’s best D0lineman and Edge from the classes of 2026 and 2027. Stewart would be an exception in that regard as he had, in October 2024, reclassified from the 2026 class to the 2025 class. As he prepares for the new season, this unique opportunity will play a huge role for Stewart. For now, let’s find out what the chances are of him joining LSU.
LSU Tigers face tough competition
So far, LSU has been successful in recruiting elite talent, but it looks like they are facing a significant challenge with Stewart. Last Saturday, Alabama dominated LSU 42-13. Will the result affect the five-star’s decision?

Can LSU overcome their recent loss to Alabama and secure Jahkeem Stewart's commitment?
Have an interesting take?
On November 14, Chad Simmons, a football recruiting expert, was part of the On3 Recruits YouTube channel to discuss Stewart’s future. He started with Stewart’s recent visit to LSU and said, “Good official visit to LSU.” Hold on, LSU fans; no need to celebrate too soon. We all know the dynamics change rapidly. Simmons highlighted the same and added, “Oregon, Ohio State with the main two. USC wants to make a move this coming weekend on the OV as well in Los Angeles but for me, I like where Oregon still sits.” His statement clearly says that Oregon can be a threat to LSU.
Stewart made an official visit to Baton Rouge, but it was only when Alabama defeated them. Did he choose the wrong day? His trainer, Clyde Alexander, had a conversation with On3 and stated, “LSU was great. There’s still a lot to be discussed, but LSU is showing that they are highly motivated to keep him in the state.” DL has a great relationship with USC as well, and he is set to visit them on November 15. LSU needs to work hard if they want the five-star player in their squad.
