Julian Lewis joins the Buffs—Is this the start of a new era for Colorado football?

Do you see how even Deion Sanders does that? Prime Time’s magic is truly working overtime this season. With the addition of four-star quarterback Julian Lewis to Boulder, it has only intensified. It’s just another example of Coach Prime keeping his promise once again. Yes, you heard it right. He made a promise to die-hard Buffs fan Peggy Coppom that he would bring Julian onto the team, and now that it’s done, even the team itself is excited about this monumental addition. It’s safe to say that the Buffs aren’t just on their way—they’re already here, ready to make a difference.

Well, this is a perfect example of young recruits seeing the Colorado Buffs as their launchpad for greatness, and Julian Lewis just added more depth to it. Now that he is a part of the Buffs, how can his fellow recruits not make him feel welcome? Today Buffs three-star defensive lineman Christian Hudson took to Instagram to share a story stating, “Let’s go, man.” It looks like the excitement is raging inside everyone’s heart. The team finally has a powerful addition. But that’s not all.

Hudson isn’t the only one thrilled with Julian Lewis’s bold move to join the Buffs; five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart expressed his excitement on Instagram, writing “Congratulations family.” Could this be a sign that even Jahkeem can join paths with the Colorado Buffs as he recently reclassified himself for the class of 2025? But for now, let’s not take away the spotlight from Julian Lewis.

Julian Lewis’s decision to join the Buffs is a smart move, knowing that Shedeur’s exit might give him a direct opportunity to play for the team. But it looks like it’s the only reason Coach Prime and the team are rooting for him.

The reason behind Deion Sanders’ urge to get in Julian Lewis

Have an interesting take?

Well, we all know star quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ exit from the team next year for the NFL is directly proportional to Julian Lewis’s entry into the team. And there is no doubt that Coach Prime and the team played their cards well this time. However, this is not the only reason that made Prime Time excited to get Julian into the team. We all know the kind of mindset he carries while looking for players to join Colorado; it’s always quality, not quantity, and in Lewis’s case also, this approach came into action.

After Julian Lewis’s announcement, Coach Prime revealed why he urges his potential targets to visit Boulder for their game day or practice sessions to know whether it’s the game that catches their attention or they are just behind the NIL deals. Putting light into this perspective, Deion Sanders says, “We gotta see if they fit with us. Do they just want to come here and talk about NIL? If so, I definitely don’t want them. So many aspects are attractive. But some come on visits and harm themselves.” That’s a straight fact: knowing players’ temperament and the way they respond to the situation is really important in the long run.

Moreover, with the amount of X factor or popularity Deion Sanders and his team have, there is no need to lurk for the NIL deals; it will automatically give Julian Lewis the nation-wide spotlight and automatically load him with tons of NIL deals. The big question is how Coach Prime will shape this young talent and create an impact next year. Let’s wait and witness.
