Another day, another recruiting war for Deion Sanders—because why not keep things spicy? Coach Prime just wrapped up a wild chase for Julian Lewis, going toe-to-toe with the USC Trojans. And now he’s back in the trenches against Clemson’s Dabo Swinney for Donovan Murph. Much like the weather, recruitment is perpetually changing and difficult to predict. And this particular situation? Well, it seems to be quite challenging for Prime, particularly with fans already proudly displaying Clemson flags, as if it’s game day. Tough crowd.

Irmo High’s very own four-star WR Donovan Murph just trimmed his college wishlist from five to three. Well, bye-bye, Tennessee and Ole Miss! The programs that are still standing strong in the race are Colorado, Clemson, and South Carolina. Now just leave it to recruiting wizard Sam Spiegelman, who broke the scoop on IG. “WR Donovan Murph will reveal his college decision on January 2 from the @uanextfootball Game. Colorado, South Carolina, and Clemson are finalists for one of the top unsigned players in the country,” he posted. Guess it’s time to grab some popcorn because this recruiting drama just got way more interesting.

Now here’s the kicker—Donovan Murph is set to reveal his final pick at the Under Armour All-American Game, which is like the Super Bowl of high school football. Last month, Clemson and South Carolina managed to capture his attention through visits. However, it would be unwise to underestimate Deion Sanders and the Buffs. Murph and Coach Prime go way back in time, as after reclassifying himself from 2026 to 2025, Murph visited Colorado’s spring game back in April. Buckle up, folks; this one’s going to be spicy!

Let’s be real—the recruiting war has always been a bloodsport, but ever since NIL entered the chat, it’s a whole new mind game. Moreover, no program wants to lose a player like Donovan Murph, who has an exceptional track record of 57 catches for 1,084 yards (17.0 YPC) with 17 TDs, and a cherry on top that he carried Irmo to an undefeated season and their first 4A semifinal. And you think Coach Prime’s gonna let this one slide? Well, fans aren’t sure about that!

Fans supporting Clemson Tigers over Deion Sanders Buffs

What’s your perspective on:

Can Deion Sanders outmaneuver Dabo Swinney in this high-stakes recruiting showdown for Donovan Murph?

Have an interesting take?

Well, sixteen Buffs players have entered the transfer portal since the winter window opened on 9th December. And it’s loud and clear that no other team needs to fill up their roster like Deion Sanders needs to do for the Buffs. Moreover, getting in a player like Donovan will only increase the depth of the offense, plus let’s just not forget how miserably they fell against BYU in the Alamo Bowl. All this is a sign of urgency for the team to fill up their roster. So in between all this mess, fans rooting for “Clemson 🏡💍” for the Tigers is really not helping.

However, this could also be a factor of concern because their loss against the Cougars might also make a weird impression on Donovan. Plus, how can we miss out on the home-state factor? Now, obviously, a team based in South Carolina will have a special place in his heart; even if it’s not the case, at least fans think the same as they say, “Clemson home 🏠.”

But you know right, situations change in the blink of an eye. Well, something similar happened with Brian Kelly while holding up on their top five-star quarterback, Bryce Underwood. But we all know what happened next: he went to his home team Michigan. Then also fans were rooting for LSU, but Michigan won, and who knows, this time the same thing might happen.

Meanwhile, “Clemsonnn” is all over the comments as support for the Tigers continues to surge. But let’s not forget that joining the Buffs will give him a fair chance at the game and increase his NIL valuation.

Deion Sanders and his team are a hotspot for attracting deals and endorsements, something the Clemson Tigers will never be able to give to him. But it looks like this fan is quite assertive that it’s gonna be Tigers, as they say, “Clemson 😢😢.” Now Donovan has the final say. So let’s just wait and see if fans’ favorite, Clemson, actually makes it to the final cut or not.
