Now, who doesn’t know about Dillion Gabriel? This guy has managed to turn Dan Lanning and the Ducks into an offensive monster. After moping the floor with the Wolverines, the Ducks have secured their spot in the playoffs with a 9-0 and Dillion Gabriel? Well, this guy is going straight to the Heisman. With over 2600 yards under his belt along with 19 touchdowns and a QBR of 88.1, Gabriel has been spot-on with his plays. But, we sense a new storm coming to take over Gabriel’s reign and give it a new look.

Coming straight from James Campbell High School is our new 4-star QB Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele. Back on Instagram, On3 Recruits shared massive news surrounding Jaron. “Cal 4-star QB commit Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele now holds the Hawaii all-time passing yardage record,” On3 wrote in the caption of their post. See, Gabriel had a big Hawaii All Time Leading Passers record with 10,048 yards and 105 touchdowns.

But now, Jaron has broken that record. With 10,246 yards and 113 touchdowns, there is a new king in the house. Pretty sure Dan Lanning would do everything in his power to grab this guy on the roster.

Currently, as per 247Sports, Jaron is committed to the California Bears, but that could change at any time. Jaron has already paid a visit to the Ducks, and he had a lot to say. “The players look like they are fully bought into what Coach Lanning is building,” Jaron mentioned. Could this mean that the Ducks can flip him around in this recruitment battle?

In general, Oregon has a long history of having quarterbacks coming from Hawaii. Heisman trophy winner and star Ducks QB Marcus Mariota was from Hawaii. Even Gabriel is from Hawaii. Plus, another thing to keep in mind is the fact that the Ducks are quite close to home for Jaron, and even that can play a massive role in this flip. However, Dan Lanning is not only going to face some competition from the Bears but also from the Dawgs.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele dethrone Dillion Gabriel as the next Hawaiian quarterback sensation?

Have an interesting take?

Kirby Smart has his eyes on his next QB

See, the recruitment ain’t going well for the Dawgs. Despite them having quite the season and recovering well after the Bama loss, Kirby Smart has already lost one of his commits. Shamari Earls, 4-star CB, had decided to flip over to the Wolverines.

Right now, Smart needs new guys, and he is already pushing for Jaron. “I have just been offered by the University of Georgia,” Jaron had mentioned back on October 21st. See, the Bulldogs need this commitment.

Smart has already lost 2 of his QB commits this year. Ryan Montgomery missed almost his entire senior year because of an injury, and Jared Curtis has already flipped. All of these puts his entire 2025 roster plans in the mud. While the Ducks have close ties with Hawaii, can Smart come in with some smart tactics and win Jaron over? We gotta wait and find out.

But as that drama unfolds, why don’t you tune in for the latest EssentiallySports Think Tank episode?
