QB1 and his successor have been spotted together!! For Shedeur Sanders? This 2024 season was massive. This guy showed everyone what he was capable of. Going from complaining about his O-line after the Huskers game to stepping up and bringing in 3 touchdowns during a disastrous Wildcats game where Deion Sanders had lost his entire WR depth to injuries. Then you take the Golden Arm award win and well, the rest is history. It is kind of wild how he couldn’t crack past the No.8 spot on the Heisman list, but that is alright. Because we believe that Shedeur Sanders is going to leave behind the perfect successor to the Buffs QB1 throne.
Back on Instagram, Rivals shared a clip of Shedeur with the new Buffs recruit, Julian Lewis. “Shedeur Sanders and Julian Lewis pulled up to the @cubuffsmbb game,” Rivals mentioned in their caption. It’s finally good to see both of them together cause it’s about time Lewis goes in and learns from Shedeur properly. Oh, and the Buffs won a massive 79-55 win over the Knights today during the basketball showdown. Talk about back-to-back hits, huh?

Coming back to Lewis. This entire arc of Deion Sanders getting his 5-star QB has been beautiful. From the wake of USC’s ashes, Lewis dropped off and joined Coach Prime. All in all, this is perfect for the Buffs’ future.
Other than Bryce Underwood, Julian Lewis probably has the second-highest demand right now. And Deion’s plans for him sound quite spicy. For Coach Prime, it is very important to get a quarterback who can follow his coaching style.
With the Alamo Bowl around the corner, Coach Prime is all set to put Lewis on the scout team. “We gonna put his butt on the scout team,” Deion Sanders had mentioned during an interview. This would give Lewis much-needed exposure to be set for the 2025 season. But then again, he will also need it because he could end up facing some competition for the starting QB position at the Buffs.
Is Julian Lewis in danger?

Yes, we just talked about him being Shedeur’s successor, but at the same time, we just have to talk about QB Kaidon Salter. See, Deion managed to snag Salter from the portal, and he was a massive asset to Liberty. Took the team to a 13-1 season this year, so he is no joke.
Now, when it comes down to who is going to start for the Buffs, we are pretty sure that Deion is going to test out both of these guys. While Lewis has done massive stuff at the high school level, he has yet to experience the college-level heat.
Salter, on the other hand? Yeah, he is a 60% accurate passer, so he knows what he is doing. See, this entire decision of having both Lewis and Salter was met with fixed feedback. Both of these guys are good, and none of them would probably want to be a backup quarterback for the Colorado Buffs.
