Can Brian Kelly's LSU Tigers finally dethrone Alabama in the recruiting race this season?

Starting with GOAT Nick Saban, Kalen DeBoer has been an ideal successor in terms of reeling the top talents. But now that their playoff dreams hang like a thread, here comes another blow for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Poor Bama!

Their program has been left behind in the recruiting race. All thanks to LSU Tigers and their HC Brian Kelly who are all set to roll out a red carpet for the nation’s best recruits. Maybe losing to underdogs did cost DeBoer hard losing the pedestal the recruits had put him on.

Can Brian Kelly make the recruits lean toward the LSU Tigers?

The second Saturday of November is knocking at the door. It’s time for the much-awaited LSU Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide game. Well, it’s enough to send jitters as the high-stakes matchups have been earlier labeled as the “Game of the Century.” But for the Tigers, their record of 1-4 in the last five matchups in Death Valley seemed to have left a bitter taste among LSU fans. While no one knows what the end result will be, the Tigers HC Kelly is at a far better place than Crimson Tide HC DeBoer. That definitely means something big coming LSU’s way as the national recruiting analyst had already dropped the hints.

On November 6, Sam Spiegelman posted, “Death Valley will be rocking on Saturday night as rivals LSU and Alabama square off in Tiger Stadium in front of several of the nation’s best recruits in the country 🐯.” Not one, not two, but Kelly will be hosting NINE recruits this weekend. Some of the young chaps who had kept the programs on their foot are 5-star QB Bryce Underwood, 5-star defensive end Jahkeem Stewart, 5-star cornerback Na’eem Offord and the list continues. But what makes the analyst so sure that the recruits are going to go for Kelly’s squad since earlier the top talents always used to swarm around Alabama? Surprisingly, DeBoer is the reason behind the shift of perspective among young talents.

How Kalen DeBoer falls short of Nick Saban’s legacy

What’s your perspective on:

Can Brian Kelly's LSU Tigers finally dethrone Alabama in the recruiting race this season?

Have an interesting take?

Not one, but there have been a lot of areas in which the Crimson Tide debut HC fell short while filling up the role of the 7x nation championship winner. Even though they came off as the winner against Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs, they struggled in the second half. A week later, too, the issue persisted against Vanderbilt. Now comes the most concerning reason, the lack of discipline.

While Saban was around, not a single person could raise their finger at Alabama. It has been only seven weeks and already charges have started to pour in c-gars, kicking the pigskin and throwing mouthpieces, and whatnot. Now let’s come to where DeBoer failed to keep up his coaching standards. That was his inability to adjust.

As Vanderbilt Commodores shredded Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack’s unit to pieces, with the Vandy QB Diego Pavia in charge, the program failed to allow 418 yards, 5.6 yards per play, and 40 points to Vanderbilt. But Kalen DeBoer should have used his years of experience and logic to realize the sort of game he was in and adjust accordingly. So many charges against the Alabama mentor. If you are still thinking that the recruits would run into fire-chosing Alabama Crimson Tide over LSU Tigers, PLEASE WAKE UP!
