EA DICE took to the Xbox and Bethesda showcase at E3 2021 to drop the gameplay reveal for Battlefield 2042. Previously, they had also revealed the first look trailer that excited fans immensely. Following both these trailer reveals, the Design Director of Battlefield 2042 sat down for a Q&A session with Epic Games to discuss what the team has in store for fans.
One of the most interesting things that came up in this discussion was the number of Easter Eggs in the trailers. Both the initial reveal and the gameplay trailer had callbacks to previous Battlefield titles. These clearly have a lot to do with what is coming in the game in the future.

Right off the bat, Epic Games asked Daniel Berlin, Design Director on Battlefield 2042, about any hidden secrets in either of the trailers. Moreover, he also wondered whether these secrets could mean something. If yes, Epic Games wanted the developers to let fans on these secret details.
Daniel confirmed the existence of easter eggs in both the trailers. However, he said he would rather leave figuring these out up to the fans.
“There’s definitely stuff in there, and I expect the community to dissect that thing and really find those particular details. I’m not going to call anything out specifically since we’re still in reveal mode, but there are things in the reveal trailer that we have not talked about yet. I look forward to that surgical dissection that the community will do, still framing the whole thing.”

‘RendeZook’ makes a spectacular appearance among other easter eggs
One of the most popular Easter eggs appeared in the initial reveal trailer that fans instantly guessed. It was none other than the ‘RendeZook’ maneuver popularized in Battlefield 3. This is when players jump out of their aircraft with a bazooka. Next, they shoot the bazooka at an enemy aircraft before finally climbing back in their aircraft mid-air.

Another Easter egg comes from a Reddit user who feels that the trailer designers are huge fans of Tenet. The movie from legendary Hollywood director Christopher Nolan clearly has some fans in the Battlefield 2042 development team. Therefore, they added a slight but obvious sound to ‘Freeport’ in the background music of the trailer.
