Twitch banning DrDisrespect is perhaps one of the biggest incidents in the world of streaming in recent times. The entire fiasco is still mysterious to the fans as neither Twitch nor Doc himself has spoken out about the details of the ban. Twitch, however, is infamous for banning streamers and not providing any explanation for it to the public, or at times, even to the person banned.

Twitch inexplicably banned DrDisrespect back on June 26th this year.
The platform has had a policy of banning streamers who have streamed with a banned streamer on the platform. However, it looks like the rule does not apply to every streamer. Crimsix, Nadeshot, and Snoop Dogg have all streamed with the “Two-Time” after the platform banned him. The platform does not seem to have banned them for this.

Recently, Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez, a known face in the Call of Duty and the streaming circuit spoke up about this on one of his videos. He presents a good point, saying,
“How can they stop massive personalities on the platform from streaming with a friend of theirs, especially where there hasn’t been a direct public reason as to why the man was banned.”
It is evident that HecZ’s point was majorly about Twitch not revealing details of the reasons for banning someone who is this big of an internet personality. Because he does explain, on the other hand, the reason why Twitch has the policy of banning streamers (read, small-time streamers) who stream with someone after the platform has banned them. It is to prevent the person from finding another way to keep appearing on the platform after the ban and maybe even earn something from it. However, Twitch really cannot stop huge personalities like Snoop Dogg and Nadeshot from doing the same on the platform.

But that apart, Hecz’s major point is that the platform should allow streamers who are looking at increasing their viewership by aligning themselves with a huge personality like Doc, because, in Hecz’s own words: “It’s only 99% of his personality that’s being broadcasted”. He says that until Twitch explains why they banned Doc, “it’s fair game” to stream with whoever anyone wants.
Now, this is, of course, his own outlook about the entire fiasco, and many fans may even disagree with this. However, almost everyone out there agrees that Twitch should show more transparency when it comes to banning a personality on the platform.
