The recent stream of impressive performances from the 21 year old, Harry Kane has drawn comparisons to the current Real Madrid star and Spurs ace Gareth Bale. We now look into how legit these comparisons are.

The young prodigy was the star of the day, as Mauricio Pochetino’s men beat the league’s leaders in a thrilling contest between the fierce rivals. The match ended 5-3 with Kane scoring a brace and an assist to his name.

Kane started the season with a goal against AEL Apkol and then scoring against Nottingham in the Capital Cup. From then, he was a regular member of Argentine’s squad in the Cup and Europa league, scoring 8 goals in 6 matches including a hat trick against Asteras T.

Gareth Bale started his career as a left back but gradually shifted his position and finished his Spurs career as a striker. There may not be similarities between their styles of play but just like Bale, Kane is proving to be a vital player for Spurs and there is no doubt that in the coming years Kane will go onto score a number of goals for the club. But the question that arises here is that can he grow to the stature that of Bale in Spurs?

This season Kane has become one of the most important members of the squad. He has played the role of lone striker as Adebayor and Soldado have not shown signs of form. Ericksen and Lamela have provided the much needed cover in midfield but the sudden growth of the 21 year old Kane has drawn much attention of the critics and viewers. He has already won them matches single handedly because of which Spurs is sitting 5 in the EPL table after having a disastrous start to the season. Since he came into the team, Spurs have only improved. They now sit behind Soton by a point and have a realistic chance of finishing in the top 4.

If Kane continues to perform like this then there is no one stopping him. The high pressing game of Pochetino looked to be failing at the start of the season. But Kane has adjusted to the new style and made the team look dynamic. He is always seen running on the ground, either with the ball or for the ball, just what Pochetino wanted from his strikers.

Whether Kane reaches to the stature of Bale or not is to be seen in the future, but the early signs are very promising. In Kane, Spurs and England have got a great goal scoring machine.
