Despite loud chants of the same, football did not come home on Sunday. England’s football team, despite taking an early lead in the Euro Cup Final could not bring the trophy home. They lost 3-2 on penalties to Italy after both teams finished 1-1 in normal time. Lewis Hamilton and other F1 drivers showed their support for the three lions.
The loss was heartbreaking for many English fans including some British F1 drivers. Lando Norris, who was present at Wembley to watch the game live, was disappointed after the loss.
The young Brit took to Instagram to mark the occasion and showed the English team his support. He stated that he is proud of the team for their achievement of reaching the final.

Lewis Hamilton and Russell extend their support to the English Football team
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton also took to social media to extend his support to the English team. He posted a heartbreak emoji on his Instagram Story to express his feelings on the loss.
Hamilton wrote,” Damn proud of you guys,” while praising the English team.
Williams driver George Russell also showered praises to English players on their journey to the finals on his Instagram.
“ Proud of the boys! Keep your heads held high,” said Russell.
This was another penalty shootout loss for the three lions at a major tournament as their wait for an internal trophy continues. They last an international trophy in 1966 when they won the World Cup.

Antonio Giovinazzi celebrate the Italian win at EURO 2020
While all the British Formula One drivers mourned England’s loss, an Italian in the F1 paddock rejoiced as Italy brought the trophy to Rome. Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi was delighted with the victory of the Italian team and took to social media to express his emotions.

The Alfa Romeo driver was constantly cheering for the Italian team. He was also spotted wearing the Italian jersey when he came into the paddock in Austria. The victory marks Italy’s second Euro triumph having previously won the inaugural edition in 1968.
