Halo Infinite trailer just dropped on official social media platforms. This one did not feature Master Chief like the previous one. “Their brazen defiance will be all but a memory.” These lines seem to echo the entire feel of the trailer. The trailer hit simultaneously across all social media channels linking back to the previous trailer where we saw the Ring.

That voice, it just reminds us of ones who were forgotten. Of course, for those of us who love Halo, we know precisely who these mercenaries are. The Banished, the ruthless lot to whom the ideas of brotherhood and violence go hand in hand. Some of us kept wondering if the voice belonged to “Atriox” – the leader of the group.

However, if one listens to the words carefully, “we are his will, we are his legacy, we are the Banished,” it might not be Atriox. Perhaps someone lower-ranking general, but it still instills fear within us.

As far as we can guess, they might not be the only enemies in this war, as there are several forces at play. Their introduction came in the Halo franchise in the Halo Wars 2 – although they were never the epicenter of the main conflict. Nevertheless, they might be at the helm of things this time.

“The forces that occupying the ring, within hours, it will be under our control.” Thus, clearly pointing out the previous trailer where we saw Master Chief looking at the ring. The linking is quite easily done as “humanity will burn” further confirms who the ‘forces’ are.

“No more prophets. No more lies”

This is where we are a little stuck – for Halo fans, the concept of prophets and prophecies holds extreme significance. We know how important they can be for the plot, but it seems the Banished are here with renewed purpose. Exacting revenge is perhaps what the Banished are infamous for; thus, this war will be big.

The hype is too great, and with too little information from 343 Industries, we are left to piece things for ourselves. However, with the introduction of The Banished, it seems that things might get ugly for humanity and its defenders. With the developers remaining tight-lipped until the official Microsoft Xbox event (in July), what are your thoughts so far?
