The sixth installment in the Halo franchise has been one of the most anticipated game titles in recent times. It follows the story of Master Chief wherein this time, he faces both new and returning foes.

Halo Infinite delayed

The game’s gameplay was revealed during the recent Xbox event and the reception wasn’t all positive. The game received heavy backlash for its graphics and arcade like gameplay elements.

The developers did comment that this is what they intended with the game. They wanted to bring back the old Halo experience without compromising anything and so they did. However, their decision to delay the title does seem in link with the same.

“We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision”

343 Industries did list down a number of factors that prompted them to take these decisions. The ongoing world pandemic was one among them.

The game was supposed to be released this holiday, however it will be moved to a later unspecified date in 2021 to meet many changes. COVID-19 situation has affected every industry alike and just last week Riot Games announced that they’d be letting their employees days off to blow off the steam.

Shipping a title like Halo is a pressurising task and the team would be going through a lot. So, their decision is quite respectable and would only allow them time to fix and make the game a whole lot better.

Crticial work necessary

343 Industries does acknowledge that their community would be upset. Trying to understand them in such crucial circumstances opens the space for them to finish off all necessary works.

“The extra time will let us finish all the critical work necessary to deliver the most ambitious Halo game ever at the quality we know our fans except”

There are chances that the developers could fix the very same issues that fans have been complaining about. Furthermore, there are chances that the game could come with more modes like many asked.

None of that is confirmed, so take it with a pinch of salt. We can surely expect the game to be a smoother experience. So, till then the community has to maintain some patience.
