Suni Lee expressed her gratitude to fellow gymnast Simone Biles for presenting her father with a thoughtful gift.

In her recent performance at the Summer Games in Tokyo, the American won the all-around champion and a bronze on the uneven bars. After Simone Biles decided to step down from performing, all eyes were on the 18-year-old. Despite the intense pressure, Suni Lee emerged victorious. Thus, she successfully helped to defend the USA’s title even after Biles decided to withdraw.

Every athlete hopes to make their family proud with their achievements. Similarly, Lee wanted to share her triumph with hers, in particular with her father, John Lee. Last month, Lee put the gold medal around her father’s neck and gave him a hug. Witnessing this emotional moment, Simone Biles, her teammate decided to surprise Lee’s father with an incredibly sweet gesture.

What did Suni Lee’s father receive?

Two years ago, John Lee had met with an accident that led to paralysis. Because of this, he had been using a manual wheelchair. In order to make things easier and smoother for him, Simone Biles decided to help him modify his wheelchair a little bit. While doing so, she said, “Hi, Mr. Lee, it’s Simone. I love your daughter, Suni, so much and I know how much she loves you. You have done so much for her so I reached out to my friends at the TODAY show to see if we could do something special for you. Hope you like it.”

John’s response was priceless. While tears of happiness he said, “Oh, my God. Oh my, that is awesome.” He was indeed surprised to see that an electric wheelchair from Quantum Rehab will be fitted specially for him. Although John was thankful for such a great display of consideration towards him, he also appreciated Biles for what she did at Olympics.

He added by saying, “I want to tell her team that no matter what, you all support her, and I want to tell Simone that she truly is the GOAT because she let my baby girl bring the gold medal“. Most certainly, Suni Lee was overwhelmed by such a wonderful gesture from her fellow American superstar, Simone Biles. Thus, Lee even tweeted about the same saying, “@simonebiles you’re the BEST. we love you so much“.

Having such an incredible start to her career and receiving unconditional support from her fellow gymnasts will indeed help Lee to achieve greater heights to make her family glow with more pride.
