For more than a decade, John Cena was the top guy in WWE. Whether it was 16 world championships or having iconic feuds with The Rock, Randy Orton, or Edge, Cena had done it all. But, like in every profession, especially in a physically demanding one like wrestling, there comes a time when the body slows down. Now, after his steadily growing Hollywood stardom, there’s no reason for Cena to continue with WWE. He said, “Guys like Eddie would just risk so much. I’m never gonna give the consumer a bad product. I don’t care how I feel physically. Don’t care what baggage I have mentally. When I’m out there, they paid good money, and I’m gonna give everything I have and sometimes find it when it’s not there.

While there are many legends who have been working for more years than Cena in WWE, every wrestler is different and it takes a lot of effort to get in shape to wrestle. Also, Cena did wrestle non-stop for WWE for well over a decade and has shown signs of slowing down.

Many fans called it absolute trash and hoped more from The Champ. But as Cena said in the interview, he can’t give anymore, not at those levels he used to.

Cena citing Eddie Guerrero here is important, as the late WWE Champion would put his body on the line week in and week out until it started taking a toll on him but he didn’t stop. Cena fans will hope that the 16-time world champion keeps himself fit both mentally and physically and if he doesn’t return to the ring again, they have enough memories of The Champ to last a lifetime.
