Arsene Wenger is now scouting Aubameyang as a replacement for long time target Jackson Martinez, who looks set to move to Spain and join Atletico Madrid.
Gabon international Aubameyang has previously been linked with Liverpool, but is now rumoured to be Arsenal’s top target for the summer.
The 26 year old scored 25 goals in all competitions last season but still has three years left on his current contract at Dortmund.
But with manager Jurgen Klopp standing down at the end of the last campaign, a number of players look set to follow him out of the doors.
Aubameyang is an exceptional player, with the pace and flair necessary to cut through any defense, but a move to the Premier League will really test his potential.
The Gunners are looking to grab him, with a £28.7m offer going in. Aubameyang would form part of the fastest front line in Europe if he signs, with Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez.
