Haas F1 driver Romain Grosjean believes that McLaren will vault up the F1 standings and threaten Red Bull next year. The British manufacturer is one of the sport’s most well-known teams. They are also the second oldest active outfit after Ferrari. McLaren have been going through a rough patch the past 2-3 years with Honda. But now, with Renault onboard, Grosjean forsees a McLaren-Red Bull battle in 2018.
McLaren have not been anywhere near the top since 2008 when Lewis Hamilton won the title from Felipe Massa. Since then, the nine titles have been split between Mercedes (four), Red Bull (four) and Brawn.
However, Grosjean has backed McLaren to bounce back in 2018. The Woking squad finished ninth in the constructors standings in 2017. He believes that they can use their resources to their advantage in their 2018 F1 campaign.
